“Dysmorphia”
Watercolor on gessoed masonite
17x44

This painting is for The Hollow Project which is a show about body issues and self esteem.  Read about it here.

About the painting:
By all accounts, I have a wonderful life.  I have married, loving, and supportive parents. I have friends, graduated college, have a job and a comfortable home.  Yet I am faced with a view of myself that is far removed from reality.
I hope this painting can be like the Picture of Dorian Gray that can absorb these exaggerated problems I see in myself.

This is really an amazingly designed desk if you don’t have too much to store.  Maybe the point is to force you to prioritize and keep it simple.  We always can try and keep things a little simpler.

This is a beast Zach and I collaborated on for a contest from the movie 9.  You had to create a beast that looked like it was from the movie with found objects.

With a little crit from Jerry and Diana, I present the first painting from the trip to Santa Fe.  It is from the side of the train that was sitting in the train yard.

The future is not ominous, but a promise - it envelops the present as a halo.
